Rob Bledsoe

Independent Songwriter Magazine says of Robb Bledsoe:

His voice glides within the melody; serenity that lulls the consciousness into a special place of inner awareness. There's antiquated charm woven into every note. Peaceful. Romantic. Lovely. Above all, it's honest. The rustic hometown spirit is so pure and real. Even the occasional vocal or musical imperfection only adds a sweet flavor to the overall taste. This is one album that all grassroots music lovers should have faithfully spinning in their CD players. lSWM INDIE PICK OF THE MONTH - August 2001

Robb Bledsoe has a smooth, warm voice with a wide vocal range and a style that is sometimes compared to Gordon Lightfoot, Waylon Jennings, Randy Owen, and James Taylor, with a touch of Roy Orbison with a blend of Garth Brooks. Robb's eloquent vocals are well suited to his pop, folk and ballad singing and song writing. His finger picking is very pleasant to the ear. Robb is currently performing an acoustic solo act singing Americana, folk songs, ballads, children's songs, and gospel. Robb writes and performs several of his own songs that are well received and covers many popular songs of the 50's 60's 70's, including a few TV theme songs. While he interprets songs of many genres, his first love is folk music and love ballads. Robb's musical influences come from several genres and writers, including Tony Joe White, John Fogerty, Willie Nelson, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor. Robb's favorite artists include those above as well as Emmy Lou Harris, John Hartford, Richard Hefner, and Patsy Cline. Past performances include Borders Books Music and Cafe in Ballwin, MO, the Cahokia Public Library, St. Louis Downtown Parks Airport Concourse, the Focal Point in Maplewood, MO, several coffee houses in the St Louis area, and the Cahokia, Illinois Old Time Music Fete, and has been heard on radio station KDHX FM88.1 in St Louis as well as other stations across the US. He also performs for private parties and picnics in the greater St Louis Metro area. He was published in SINGOUT! The Folk Music Magazine Spring 2001 issue. Robb's CD, RINGO FORD, is available at www.cdbaby.com/robbbledsoe. RINGO FORD is his second recording, the first being a cassette tape entitled TRADITION. Robb is a graduate of Belleville Area College. He has served as ecclesiastical leader to two congregations in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, worked as a Sunday School teacher, youth counselor, and volunteer reading tutor. He taught hunter safety classes and American Sign Language. He lectures on love and improving marital relationships. Robb is a member of the AF&AM Emeth Lodge 1030, ASCAP, Folk Alliance, American Federation of Musicians Local 717, UAW Local 1887, and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ. Robb was born in April 1953 in St Louis, Missouri. As a teenager, he wrote songs and poetry for his friends. Robb sang and played guitar in the US Military for parties and homecomings. He married Carol Grigsby in 1973. They have two children. Robb and his wife currently reside in the Saint Louis area.
