Notice he states , "I received a letter from Laura of Sony in Nashville acknowledging a request to furnish our radio station with new releases." Clearly, she included her email address, in her letter. In other words, he was given the option to continue through either regular or email. This is important, because it is the proper way to contact a DJ. You are requesting a favor, when you ask a DJ to review and hopefully play your music. Slow down, show a little class, and remember your manners. Politeness goes a long ways, when requesting favors. Subj: My thanks Date: 4/4/02 7:02:09 AM Central Standard Time I received a letter from Laura of Sony in Nashville acknowledging a request to furnish our radio station with new releases. In the beginning, his job was to recruit teenage girls to scream and faint, when Elvis performed. Most of the young ladies were seated in the front rows, so their excitement would be transmitted to the crowd. Jason went on to a singing career, in the 1970s. "Angel In Memory," "The Devil's Son," "I Will," and other songs climbed the charts in "Billboard," "Cashbox," and "Record World" magazines. He produced his own recordings and started his own record company, Foxfire Records. His success with radio caused other recording artists to want him as their producer. In 1979, the birth of his son caused him to give up the road. He settled in Nashville and devoted himself to the business end of music. His office walls are covered with gold and platinum records. He has been given their states' highest honor by Governors an amazing seventeen times. He will attend Ambassador Charlie Ray's Nashville Music Festival. ************************************************** Nightly Jam Sessions Jam sessions will be nightly events at the Holiday Express. The hotel is just one block from the festival and is offering discounted rooms. You can put up to four people in a room, for only $69 per night. If you don't feel like walking a block, their shuttle will be running to and from the festival, on demand. They offer free coffee, juice, rolls, and so forth each morning. All of those things are great, but the best thing is the jam sessions. Bring your guitar. If a jam session isn't taking place in the lobby, start one! To make your reservation, call 615-883-1366. Be sure to say you are attending the festival and ask for the discount. If they don't have a vacancy or if you're on a budget, the Super 8 is just next door. Their phone number is 615-889-8887. You can get a room there for only $45 per night. ************************************************** Music Reviews, by Rhett Ashley Due to the illness of his mother, Rhett is out of town.
