INTERNATIONAL COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
MARCH 2000 The internet is a new frontier
and new frontiers are frequently full of bad guys. It's
important to know who you are doing business with, and that is
very hard to do with only an electronic connection. I am very
proud to announce our web site has been granted the Better
Business Bureau Seal Of Approval. You will find the seal
proudly displayed, in the top left corner of our home
page.
We are pleased to announce two
new radio programs, for non-major label artists. Rein
Wortelboer is without a doubt the best known of all the Dutch
disc jockeys. He has won awards from country music
organizations in Nashville, Texas, Ohio, and Nebraska. He's
interviewed Grand Ole Opry stars and been interviewed by
American publications, radio, and television. He has country,
bluegrass, and gospel programs broadcasted in Dutch, by Dutch
radio. These programs have been on the air for many years. He
has agreed to do a program in English which will be
available, only at our web site. The first program is already
recorded and is being formatted for the internet. On March
15th., it will be posted at www.radiocountry.org. A new
program will be posted on the 1st. And 15th. of each
month. The music you send him will be considered for all of
his radio programs. Send your CDs to, Rein Wortelboer,
Akelei 10, 5803 CA Venray, The Netherlands. For
additional information, his e-mail address is
peelgrass@xs4all.nl
As many of you know, we recently
appointed a lot of new people to our Advisory Board and the
Executive Committee. One of the first changes to result
is the posting of our complete International Top 300 Chart, on
the internet. We had posted only the Top 100 and reserved
the rest of the chart, for members only. The purpose was to
offer a special benefit which a person had to be a member to
receive. However; our web site is the most important benefit
we can offer our members. Traffic to www.radiocountry.org
grows each day. We are approaching 2,000 visits per day and
still growing. I predict that over the next 12 months more
than 1, 000. 000 visits will be logged. Posting the
complete International Top 300 Chart will increase the total
number of visits and that will make a page there an even more
valuable asset, for our members. The International Top
300 Chart is compiled each month, through the use of a custom
designed program. Information such as radio playlists,
charts, and certain other sources are gathered from many
nations in Europe, Australia, Africa, and North America. These
data are carefully weighed for validity and importance, before
being tabulated into what I believe is the most important
chart available, anywhere. With our complete chart being e-mailed to over 3, 000 subscribers and forwarded to about 12,000 of their friends plus being posted on the most heavily advertised non-major label country music
web site, it will be one of the widely seen charts on the
planet. In order to do well in this chart, you will need to
distribute your music to all of the disc jockeys who are part
of our network. We will sell you a complete set of labels, for
only $100.I caution you in advance there are over 500 radio
programmers, on this list. It is not cheap to mail!
However; we will refund your postage for any bad address
returns, up to the full $100 you paid for the list. There are
only two requirements, (A) You must send us the returned
envelope, so we can update our files. (B) It must be
postmarked within 30 days of the date of purchase. After
all, if you wait forever to mail any list there will be a lot
of address changes. We will include set by
step instructions, on how best to send packages
overseas.
If you would like your address
included in the above list, send us your program name, station
address, e-mail address, phone and fax numbers, your mailing
address, and type of music needed. After we have verified your
information, we will be glad to make your address available to
record companies and artists around the
world. |
