Dutch DJ's Request Will the following British DJs please contact Rein Wortelboer,
by email. ************************************************** Know Which Business You Are In Serious people know entertainment is a business. The problem is most serious aspiring entertainers don't understand the true nature of the business. They spend too much time, money, and energy trying to break into a business which doesn't exist. They can sing. They look good and they have polished their stage show. They have spent hundreds of hours learning new songs. They've done everything they know to do, but it just isn't working. They work for chump change. They spend more money getting to the venue, than they are paid. They have trouble getting gigs and are seldom booked into the same venue twice. The world just isn't fair. If I just described you or someone you know, the problem is simple. You are trying to get into a business which does not exist. Unless you're working a wedding or a private party, entertainers are not paid to entertain. Entertainers are paid to fill seats. Club owners and concert promoters are not impressed with your talent. They are concerned with how many seats you fill. They hire entertainers for only one reason. They hire entertainers to draw crowds. If the club manager and cocktail waitresses have time to stand around watching your show, they will not want you back. As an entertainer, your job is to fill seats. If you fail to fill seats, nothing else matters. Entertainment history is full of bad singers who had very successful careers. Tiny Tim is one example. The man could not sing and he wasn't easy on the eyes. He had one hit, with a novelty song, "Tip Toe Through The Tulips." Many years later, he died on stage. He was still being paid more than most good singers will ever earn. His entire career was based on his outstanding ability to fill seats. Entertainment history is full of great singers, who failed to have a career as an entertainer. They are so abundant, I don't have to name any. Each of us knows several. The next time you are in a crowd of aspiring singers, look around you. You'll see several great singers, who will never have a career as entertainers. What does all this have to do with you? If you're still asking that question, one of two things is true. (A) You are already making a living as an entertainer. (B) You'll never have a career as an entertainer. Your thoughts control your destiny. Thoughts are nothing
more than the questions you ask yourself and the answers you give yourself.
If you are not already on the road to success, the reason is the quality
of the questions you ask yourself. Ask yourself, why you are failing and
your brain will provide an answer. It may say, "because you don't deserve
success." Or; it may say, "because the world is unfair." Ask yourself empowering questions and your brain will provide empowering answers. Ask yourself, if what you just read makes sense and chances are your brain will say, "Yes." If it does, ask another empowering question such as, "How can I use this information to advance my career?" Chances are your brain will give you an empowering answer. Once you have an empowering answer, you must take action. You must get up and do something. Information is not power. We are all drowning in information. It comes at us from every direction. It comes from friends, family, books, television, radio and the Internet. At one time or another, we have each learned valuable information. We knew it was valuable, but we failed to use it. We do this over and over throughout our lives and we still like to believe we are intelligent people. Information is potential power. Only massive action creates power. What action will you take, today?
