'Country Harmony' Vocal harmonies, song writers, musical entertainers... Art grew up in the Adirondack community of Ticonderoga, NY. As a youngster he was exposed to country music in his home where local musicians would gather and enjoy one another's talents. At 18 years of age, Art joined the Air Force. Having time in the barracks, he started strumming on an old Harmony flat top guitar. Fellow airman Blackie Sanford gave him a few guitar lessons. In 1954, while stationed in Harmon Field, Newfoundland, Art was playing in a 3 piece country band.Their commanding officer directed them to accompany a singer on a tour of the Northeast Air Command. That singer was Jim Reeves. After leaving the Air Force, Art played in country bands in the western New York area. In 1986 he met and married Marlie who also had a musical background. Marlie (Auge) Anauo was born and raised in the southwestern New York community of Sherman. As a small child, aunts and uncles gathered in Grandma's kitchen where country music was plentiful. As a teen, Marlie sang solos in her local church and was a member of the gospel group known as 'The Good News Singers'. They performed in jails, senior centers and other organizations. Marlie started playing guitar as a young adult and now is playing the mandolin. In 1986 Art and Marlie joined talents in what promises to be a hit duo harmony team! After having played hundreds of venues around the country, in 1994 Art and Marlie released their first album Renewing Love. Those venues included: Nashville, Tennessee; Olympic Arena, Lake Placid, New York; Port Charlotte Cultural Center, Port Charlotte, Florida; Virginia State Samboree, Virginia and many others. In 1995 Art and Marlie released their second album . In 1998 Art and Marlie were nominated for the King Eagle Award by Airplay International, Nashville, Tennessee. In 1999 They were nominated and won an award in Artistic Career Achievement. If you love good old time Country and Country Gospel, you will love their music!
