Marvin Branson

Marvin was born in Gasconade County in 1948, and has 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He now resides in Taos, Missouri, with his wife Brenda, one son, Scott, and one grandson, Zackery. He graduated from Linn High School in 1967, then from the Culinary Arts Academy in Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1968, and is a Graduate of Master Custodial Arts, Columbia, Missouri in 1986. He is employed at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Missouri. He enjoys reading, writing, gardening, and culinary arts. His interest of poetry and songwriting has led him to be a published author of 6 books and 12 recorded songs. He has won the King Eagle Trailblazer Music Award from Airplay International, in Nashville. Entirely self-taught, Marvin credits his family, friends and God for his inspiration. "I can simply say that I have done it my way, no matter what life cooks up for me. Faith has it's rewards and brings forth hope and strength to survive day by day and I have learned to give wisdom and courage to others as well as receive it." Marvin makes his own bookmarks and distributes them and is in the process of writing "Why I Must Have Faith", his autobiography.
