"Wildflower" Lyrics page.
I was born at a time (1925) when things were hard. My father worked as a tenent hand on any farm that would hire him. I was orphaned at the age of 3 and I grew up in foster homes. When WW2 broke out, I was 17 and living on a farm in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. I joined the U.S. Navy on March 20, 1943 and served as a Seaman 1st Class in the South Pacific, I spent almost three years in the Navy. I received my honorable discharge and came home to no home at all. Later on, I met a nice lady named Angela who inspired me to get my poems published. I did, and thank God for her.
