Robert L. Cooks Sr.

I was born in Flint, Michigan along with five brothers and one sister. At the age of five, my family and I moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1961. Shortly after that I began learning to play the guitar, and by the age of 16, I was writing my own songs. At the age of 25, I gave my life to the Lord and that is when I began writing Christian songs. I'm 44 years of age, and have been married for 13 years with two children, a daughter age 12 and a son age 8. I served 2 years in the U.S. Army and have been employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 22 years. My family and I are under the pastoral leadership of the Rev. Joey Johnson at The House of the Lord, located in Akron, Ohio. I hope to donate time and money to work with my wife Ivy, to help minister to abused children. My family and I currently reside in Oakwood Village, Ohio. I have developed my music ministry, and songwriting skills over a period of 20 years. I'm dedicated to the Lord and my music. It is my desire to present what the Lord has given me through song and music to a lost generation. I strongly believe that the power of music can heal, strengthen, and encourage others to press on to higher goals. I consider myself to be disciplined, responsible, and easy to work with, always open for ideas and opinions. I am prayerfully looking forward in being chosen by a record company or publisher as a Recording Artist or as a Songwriter. I have received numerous awards for my songwriting abilities and have made many public appearances in and around the Cleveland, Ohio area. I want to appeal to both markets, the saved and the unsaved. I hope to create new trends in Gospel music that will reach all races.
