Cindy Davenport

Cindy Davenport is a sensational vocalist who is positioned to be a huge success far beyond the city of Jacksonville, Florida, a growing city of music opportunity. She has given many top-notch performances and is now branching out to other states and over-seas. Her newly released single, "Wilder Side," has been climbing the charts in Europe since January 2000.

Cindy was born in San Antonio, Texas. At age eight, she moved to Jacksonville, where she still resides. Music became a very important part of her life. Some of her best childhood memories were spent singing with her two sisters and listening to her mother's records. She has had a variety of influences. Cindy attended her first concert at age six, with her mother, to see the Righteous Brothers. She soon became hooked on singing harmonies. She started performing at age twelve in the elementary school band, and continued into the high school marching and jazz bands. She also enjoyed singing in her local church choir. At age fifteen, she was inspired to become a back-up singer while attending a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert in Jacksonville. Country, Southern Rock, and Blues became strong influences to her. Another influence was Linda Rondstadt. Out of high school Cindy began singing with friends. She soon collaborated with many local bands. She enjoyed singing back-up and developed her vocal and harmony skills. Her experience and exposure in Jacksonville landed her many wonderful opportunities to perform. In 1994, Cindy formed her own band and began singing lead vicals. The band performed at many charitable functions and large outdoor festivals. She has opened up for a number of popular artists, including Faith Hill, Travis Tritt, Marty Stuart, Aaron Tippin, Sawyer Brown, and Steve Wariner. From 1995 to 1997, her band "FireProof" frequently opened up the shows at Silver Springs Theme Park in Ocala, Florida. Dave Plummer of Cypress Studios in Jacksonville, has commented that "Cindy has a voice similar to Karen Carpenter's; very sultry and alive." In 1998, Cindy took several trips to Nashville where she visited The Opry. She recorded her demos at The Omni Studio. It was one of the most memorable milestones in her career. Her heart belongs to music and she devotes a lot of her spare time to performing, writing, and recording. This past October, she performed at The Jacksonville Agricultural Fair. She is currently working with several local bands. Her contact phone number is 904-733-5626.
