Rene was born in 1928, where he experienced life in his early years in a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada. He was around the age of ten when he learned to play Country music songs on a guitar with the help of friends. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Philosophy. He was a High School teacher for thirty-five years, specializing in Business Education. As a teacher of Pitman Shorthand, he became increasingly aware of the nature of the English language. This helped him to write poetry with a view to using them to write lyrics for Country music songs. Thus, now in his seventy-second year, he has a collection of about forty-five poems, twenty-five of which are Country songs. Being intrigued by Country music, he became determined to learn the basis of music theory in order to compose the melody for his lyrics.
He studied the concept of the role of the subconscious mind and realized that with time and practice even the most complex tasks become subconscious acts. Pilots, perhaps, even fly their planes mostly at the subconscious level. When Rene is about to write a song, it is his subconscious that does all the work. And so it is with all of us in our daily tasks.
