Janet de Lyon, lyric soprano, was raised in Maryland, and has performed at the National Theatre in a solo concert. She has also performed with the National Symphony Orchestra in "Ivan the Terrible" and "Alexander Nevesky" at Wolf Trap. Ms. de Lyon has been a guest artist for the United Nations' International Year of Peace and on "Montgomery's Most Talented" on Montgomery Community Television in Maryland. She attended Boston University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Ms. de Lyon was the recipient of the first place vocal award in the Sheridon Broadcast Network (WEBB) On-Air Vocal Competition; the 1995 Bravo Award for Excellence for Outstanding Accomplishments as a Vocalist and in 1997 became a "Special Friend" to the National Theatre. She has received several awards for songwriting and poetry. Her song "The Message Is Loving" received 4th place in the 1998 Summer Songwriting Contest (Around The World Promotions) and she was nominated for Songwriter Trailblazer (King Eagle Awards) for Overall Talent and Outstanding Contribution to the Music Industry. Also, in 1999, she was nominated for Poet of the Year and received the International Poet of Merit Award from the International Society of Poets.
